Earlham Cardinal’s Homecoming is just around the corner!


 This year, the Earlham Cardinal’s homecoming theme is “Going for the Gold.” All Floats, Posters and Skits will be related to this year’s theme. Homecoming week will take place September 25th -30th, 2017.


Throughout homecoming week, student can partake in dress up days. Each day there will a female and male student will be rewarded the best dress up participant. The dress-up days for homecoming week will be as follows: Monday is going for the gold (Seniors wear gold, Juniors wear silver, Sophomores wear bronze, Freshmen wear white for participation, Staff/younger students wear any combination of gold, silver, or bronze), Tuesday is Summer Olympic day (Dress as you favorite Summer Olympic sport), Wednesday is Winter Olympic day ( Dress like you favorite Winter Olympic Sport), Thursday is Country day (Dress to represent your favorite country), and Friday is Spirit day (School colors).


High school class competitions will also be held near the end of the week in the afternoons. High school boys will be given the chance to partake in He-Man Volleyball in the gymnasium at 2:30pm on Thursday 28th. On Friday the 29th, High school girls will be given the chance of partaking in Powderpuff Football, Senior and Freshmen girls with compete against Junior and Sophomore girls. The public is welcome to come and enjoy the games with the students.


Thursday, September 28th, the Parade begins at 6:30. Line up for the parade will begin at 6:00 in the Earlham Church of Christ parking lot. The parade route will begin at the Church of Christ, head South down Chestnut, Turn right at 2nd St, Travel two blocks and turn into the school parking lot.


The Pep Rally will take place in the school Auditorium right after the conclusion of the Parade. At the Pep rally, the winners of the High school class posters, floats, and skits will be announced at the pep rally. The high school class skits will also be presented during this time. Homecoming court for Earlham’s 2017 homecoming includes Freshmen attendants are Kirsten Boyle and TJ Harkins, Sophomores attendants are Jenna Becker and Elliott Groves, Junior attendants are Jenna Hardenbrook and Dawson Madren and the Homecoming queen candidates are Madi Young, Taylor Hipsley, and Cameryn Caskey and Homecoming King candidates are Jim Knight, Jason Hopp, and Ben Clement. The 2017 Homecoming Queen and King Coronation Ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the pep rally.


On Friday, September 29, the homecoming football game will kick off at 7:00pm for the game against the Riverside Bulldogs. At half-time the homecoming court will be introduced, along with a performance from the Earlham High School Marching Band.


On Saturday evening, homecoming week will be wrapped up with a dance for the high school students sponsored by the Earlham High School Student Council in the commons area.
